Owner Roy Taylor has spent more than three decades perfecting his craft as a professional painter. For over 15 of those years, he successfully ran his own painting business, building a reputation for meticulous work and lasting quality. In 2024, Roy opened the doors to Refreshed Furnishings in Morehead City, creating a space where his expertise in painting, refinishing, and woodworking could be shared directly with the community.

Roy’s talent goes far beyond a brush and spray gun. He’s a problem-solver, a repair expert, and now, with the addition of custom CNC carving, a designer who can bring nearly any pattern or detail to life in wood. From restoring fragile antiques to creating bold modern pieces, Roy brings both precision and artistry to every project.

In 2025, Refreshed Furnishings introduced a state-of-the-art laser cleaning system. This innovative technology allows us to strip away old finishes, paint, and even rust with incredible precision — all without damaging the surface beneath. The result is a safer, cleaner, and more efficient way to prepare furniture for refinishing, ensuring every piece starts with the best possible foundation.

Roy doesn’t do it alone. His wife, Sheree, manages the front of the store — greeting customers, answering questions, and making sure everything stays organized so projects flow smoothly. In the workshop, Willie assists with furniture preparation and supports Roy in keeping projects moving forward on schedule.

Together, they form a small but mighty team united by one belief: furniture is worth investing in. Whether it’s a cherished family heirloom or a piece you’ve just discovered, they’ll give it the care, skill, and creativity it needs to become something you’ll treasure for years to come.
